Antipodean godparents of queer art punk Voix de la Ville invite you to a decadent queer art party extravaganza.

Bonfire of The Vanities will be a visceral theatre of the senses, showcasing piping hot alternative performance art-makers, live installations and flaming DJs. As the ritual unfolds, expect the avant-garde to the archaic, hysteria and hallucination.

Guests will have endless room to explore in the sprawling new multi-level arts venue The Rechabite. The happenings open in Goodwill club & Hello rooftop and bleed into an unveiling of The Rechabite’s Hall. This is set to be Voix de la Ville’s most sublime creation to date and hottest ticket for PrideFEST 2019.

Voix de la Ville co-creative directors, Ash Baroque and Strykermeyer will curate and headline what will be the final queer platform event for the company. Here they will honour an illustrious decade of work where they spearheaded a gritty new wave of alternative theatre and queer performance.

Together the trailblazers hand crafted an ingenious style of performance-making and were pivotal in the resurgence of conceptual drag. This inter-generational collaboration incarnates the rich tapestry of Perth’s queer history and has created space for other artists to weave themselves into the lineage.

Joining Strykermeyer and Ash Baroque will be performance-makers; Betty Grumble, Joni Moon, Craig Slist, Ginava, Claire Hysteria, Pussy Willow and Ash Traylia. The night will also feature red hot DJs including Petrosex, The Monarchy, Rex Monsoon, House of BOK & Homopolitan + more TBA.
