A wonderful opportunity to experience a Mass like no other. Rossini’s Petite Messe Solennelle is neither petite nor solemn. It blends operatic brilliance with traditional Mass forms, resulting in glorious melodies, wonderful choral work and some rhythms that are almost jazzy. Originally composed for performance in an intimate setting with just 12 singers and a small ensemble, it has a very special place in the repertoire and is a unique choral work.
