One of W.A’s favourite singer-songwriter’s CARUS THOMPSON joins some of WA’s finest musicians to bring you THE PAUL KELLY PROJECT, a live tribute to Australian songwriting icon PAUL KELLY at THE STIRLING ARMS in GUILDFORD on FRIDAY 25 OCTOBER | Performing two sets of classics including To Her Door, Dumb Things, How To Make Gravy, Careless, Leaps and Bounds, Deeper Water and many more!
Plus special guest SABRINA IVES | Doors Open 7:30pm
Described as a “musical treasure in the Australian landscape” (The Dwarf), Carus Thompson has been greatly influenced by the master-songsmith and in his own words “it’s a pleasure to be able to perform these wonderful songs”.
“When I was 21-22 I went to a Paul Kelly concert and it was a light bulb moment! I loved the storytelling, the honesty, and most importantly the Australian-ness. Paul Kelly set me on a path to where I am now, without a doubt.”
CARUS THOMPSON (Lead Vocals & Guitar) is accompanied for this special show by his brother CHRISTIAN THOMPSON (Vocals & Bass guitar), multi-instrumentalist and WA music legend NATHAN GAUNT (Electric/ Acoustic Guitar, Vocals, Piano, Mandolin, Ukulele & Slide Guitar), evergreen live music maestros RUSSELL LOASBY (Drums) and ADAM GARE (Vocals, Mandolin & Violin)
Come and enjoy this finely crafted tribute to one of Australia’s greatest songwriters… PAUL KELLY, whose songs are an endearing storytelling journey, into our national heart and soul.
