In celebration of National Biodiversity Month, Environmental Film Festival Australia are teaming up with RMIT University to present the award-winning documentary 'All That Breathes’, as part of RMIT Culture’s The Best Films You've Never Seen series.

The special screening will take place on Tuesday 24 September from 6:30pm to 8:30pm.

Winner of the Best Documentary Prize at both the Sundance and Cannes Film Festivals, 'All That Breathes' follows the journey of two brothers, Nadeem and Saud, who dedicate their lives to saving the Black Kite – a bird of prey essential to New Delhi's ecosystem that is mysteriously plummeting from the skies.

Set against the backdrop of environmental degradation and social unrest, the documentary captures the brothers' tireless efforts in their makeshift avian hospital. Directed by Shaunak Sen, the film explores the deep connection between the birds and the brothers who are determined to see them soar again.

The special screening will open with an introduction by RMIT lecturer Dr Shweta Kishore, followed by a Q&A with 'All That Breathes' Director Shaunak Sen.

“We’re thrilled to work with RMIT Culture on this special environmentally themed edition of their ‘The Best Films You’ve Never Seen’ series. National Biodiversity Month promotes the importance of connecting with and caring for nature in all its diversity and we felt that this film and talk provided the perfect avenue for audiences to consider their connection to their own environments and the nature around them” says Freyja Gillard, Director of Environmental Film Festival Australia.

Don’t miss this thought-provoking celebration of coexistence, nature, and its preservation on the big screen at the beautiful art-deco Capital Theatre.

Presented by RMIT Culture in partnership with RMIT Cinema Studies, supported by the Environmental Film Festival Australia and Re-Vision: Ethical Futures Moving Image Network.
