Ian Dowling - Immigrant On The Run

Hailing all the way from Waterford Ireland Ian burst onto the Australian Comedy scene in 2020 with a bang after entering the National Standup Comedy competition “Raw Comedy”.

Ian took out first place on the Gold Coast that night in front of a packed house and went on to the QLD finals with his first ever performance.

Ian performs weekly around the Gold Coast & Brisbane and has performed at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival & Sunshine Coast Comedy Festival.

This Immigrant from Waterford Ireland spontaneously packed his backpack at 18 years old after a big night on the Guinness and ended up on a plane to Australia. Armed with a daily diet of Home & Away episodes & Crocodile Dundee reruns Ian knew everything required to make it big in the Land Down Under, or so he thought…

From life’s unavoidable childhood traumas and mishaps of a misspent youth to the maze of first world problems and distractions facing us in this weird & wonderful world, Ian takes us on a trip through the sincere & serious, the rude & rambunctious, and the downright ridiculous during this hilarious show.

Ian is running 200km as part of this Ultra Marathon Comedy event. 100km to get to the Brisbane show & 100km the following day to get to the Gold Coast show.

Ian is giving 100% of his ticket money from the show to 2 amazing local homeless charities.
