Join us at the Friendship Park in Queens Garden for an afternoon of reflection and community, as we celebrate hope, harmony and community at the Bunbury Garden Labyrinth.

The afternoon offers an array of Japanese themed activities - making koi kites, listening to Japanese music, trying on kimonos, lolly drops from Kite Kinetics, a smoke ceremony, and painting/decorating your lanterns in the spring sunshine.

The lanterns will be launched into the inlet at sunset.

We cannot guarantee a specific time for launching. Please be in the area with your lanterns close to the estimated time of sunset. Our SWJF team will round everybody up together for a ceremonial walk through the Labrinth to the estuary.

Attendance to this festival is free however lanterns muse be purchased in advance via the ticket link attached.

NOTE: Our lanterns are environmentally friendly and will be collected once the ceremony ends.

What to expect at the Floating Lantern Festival:

- Decorate and float your own lantern: $25

This includes 1 x paper lantern to decorate at the festival and assemble onto floating base. Bases are returned to the festival to be re-used in following years.

- Decorate a lantern to keep (not float): $15

This option includes 1 x paper lantern to decorate and assemble at the festival, so you can display your own lantern at home (floating base not included).

- Craft workshops for children: $5 (pay at the event)

- Kimonos in the park: Gold coin donation

- Japanese Tea Ceremony: FREE

- Walk along the Bunbury Garden Labyrinth amongst the blossoms: FREE

- Live music: FREE
