The Castellorizian Association of Western Australia, in partnership with the Friends of ANZAC Cottage, warmly invites all community members, including mums, dads, grandparents, aunts, and uncles, to our Free Poppy-Making Workshop. This event celebrates our shared history and is a testament to the inclusivity and value we place on every member of our community.
The workshop, a collaborative effort, will be held at Castellorizian House, 160 ANZAC Road, Mount Hawthorn, on October 20 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Entry, materials, and refreshments are free, and we encourage families to work together in remembrance.
Please book for this free event so we can ensure that we have enough refreshments and materials for all. For bookings and more information, please call Stephanie Meagher on 0450 609 491, Anita Verne on 0407 922 783, or Anne Chapple on 0411 445 582.
The poppies made at this workshop will then join hundreds of other flowers made by other local community groups to create an installation entitled “The Poppy Project.” This initiative of the City of Vincent will bring families, neighbours, and individuals together as they did in 1916 to build ANZAC Cottage and to celebrate the end of World War I in 1918, with each poppy representing a symbol of remembrance and respect.
