Exploring Aboriginal Science

Immerse yourself into Nyoongar knowledge and discover the art of shelter building, exploring its engineering. Understand the significance of location and materials according to seasons, then test your creation against the elements.

Then, take flight as you apply the principles of aerodynamics and test your skills at kylie throwing. Will yours return to you?

During this workshop, participants will:
- Collaborate in constructing a life-sized kalak (winter shelter) and craft their own small-scale model to take home
- Explore the principles of flight through the study of various Aboriginal objects
- Gain insight into the interconnectedness of all things.
