Barry Charles is sharing his love of music at a special Sunday afternoon at the beautiful Majestic Theatre in Pomona. He has played at the Pomona Majestic over many years and has always loved playing there. The ambience of this venue makes him believe that this is the premier entertainment venue on the Sunshine Coast.

Funklava (pronounced like Baklava)
This dynamic four piece integrates exotic Greek and Balkan melodies with modern Funk grooves to create a sound that is both unique and highly danceable. With drums. bass, sax, flute, and electric resonator bouzouki (the Rezouki) this ensemble brings together the best of both worlds and musicians with several decades of national and international performing experience. https://www.facebook.com/funklava/

Marty free
“Inside that skinny white dude is a big black bluesman shouting to get out......”
Given half a chance, Marty Free spins a good yarn. The guitar playing New Zealand born singer songwriter has been around and has the songs to prove it. Free’s original songs draw on a host of eclectic influences performing solo on guitar in a stripped back intimate style that overlays his original narratives on solid grooves.
On Sunday, June 2nd, he joins good friend and early musical mentor Barry Charles for an afternoon gig at the historic Majestic Theatre, Pomona.

“I have a special connection with the Sunshine Coast. I lived there for four years in my early 20’s and it changed my life forever. I arrived as a surfer who played music and left as a musician that surfed.” “Playing with Barry in The Last Resort was a big step up and early influence” Free says. “I learned a lot!”.
