Breast Cancer and Fertility: Online Q&A held by Breast Cancer Trials

The upcoming Breast Cancer Trials online Q&A event focuses on ‘Fertility and Breast Cancer’ and takes place on the 20th of February between 5:00 - 6:30 pm with a panel of experts to speak about research and case studies to share their experiences. Around 4000 women in Australia and 400 women in New Zealand are diagnosed with breast cancer each year who are under the age of 45. Having a family may be top of mind for many of these women. While others may not have thought about planning a family yet.

The event will unpack the POEMS clinical trial which offered a new treatment option to better preserve fertility during cancer treatment. The trial found that the drug Goserelin essentially protects the patient's ovaries while they undertake treatment it causes reduced oestrogen and puts the body into a menopausal state that can be reversed after treatment.

Participants can submit their questions to the experts and register through the link above (see website section).
