The World’s Largest Filmmaking Event Returns to Melbourne in 2024!
DO YOU HAVE WHAT IT TAKES TO MAKE A MOVIE IN JUST 48 HOURS?!
Calling all Melbourne filmmakers! Taking place across more than 100 cities across the globe, the 48 Hour Film Project is returning to Melbourne for only one wild and sleepless weekend this September!
From September 20th-22nd, teams of local filmmakers will be challenged to write, shoot, and edit an original short film all within an exhilarating 48 hours!
It doesn’t matter whether you’re a first time filmmaker or a certified pro - the project is open to filmmakers of all backgrounds and experience levels. Ultimately, we aim to provide a platform for you to showcase your creativity, experiment with new techniques in a low-risk setting, and collaborate with like-minded individuals, whilst providing you an opportunity to network with industry professionals and build a portfolio of work.
What’s more, all films submitted to the 2024 project will be screened at Lido Cinemas on October 16th and 17th in Hawthorn! The winning film of the Melbourne project will then go up against films from around the world at Filmapalooza 2025 for a chance at the grand prize and an opportunity to screen at the Cannes Film Festival Short Film Corner!
So REGISTER NOW to be a part of the fun-filled, adrenaline packed weekend that has jump-started the careers of countless filmmakers around the world!
