The 2024 Launceston Gem & Mineral Show is an annual two day event presented by the Lapidary Club of Northern Tasmania Inc. Set in two halls at the Elphin Sports Centre, the event is a showcase and trade of Rocks, Minerals, Fossils, Gemstones, Crystals and Carvings from Tasmania, mainland Australia as well as from all around the world. With over 40+ traders occupying well over 100 tables. From gold coin specimens right up to museum pieces - the items on offer need to be seen to be believed. The Gem and Mineral Show is run by a committee selected by the Lapidary Club and in 2023 the show achieved the Launceston City Councils Event of the Year for our efforts.

Alongside the traders we have Mineral Resources Tasmania for all your maps, books & licences - Utas are in attendance with an interactive display. School participation - Earth Sciences. Our club also runs a working sluice that entertains the young and old - sensory display, mini mine & treasure hunt.

Tasmanian Mineral Talks coincides with the show - this year we have Tasmanian and international speakers - a ticketed event not to be missed - further information on this will be available closer to the event.
