For the 24th year in a row, Walk Safely to School Day invites primary school-aged children, parents, guardians and teachers across Australia to take part in this community initiative that aims to raise awareness of the health, road safety, transport and environmental benefits that regular walking (especially to and from school) can provide for the long-term well-being of our children.

On Friday 19 May 2023, primary school-aged children are encouraged to walk with their caretakers to school to help teach road safety skills and the physical benefits that regular walking has on our mental and physical health.

Help encourage vital road safety skills and a healthier future by slipping on the sneakers, joining hands and pounding the pavement in this year's National Walk Safely to School Day. Make sure to check with your school to see what will be happening on the day!

Learn how your school can get involved via the Walk Safely to School Day website.
