Melville is heading down the garden path to discover some of the most idyllic private backyards in the City as part of their immersive event series, the Garden and Sound Sessions.

Following the sold-out Architecture and Sound Sessions of 2022, Melville’s curatorial team are ready to go beyond the architectural homes, and this time into the leafy sanctuaries, blooming verge gardens and edible oases within the City.

Celebrated gardening coach and recipe designer Casey Lister is guest-curating the event series and has joined forces with the City to find the area’s most distinctive and abundant backyards, ripe with new discoveries for both seasoned horticulturalists and aspiring growers.

In Alfred Cove, Lorraine’s garden will see event-goers explore an urban forest of tropical and rare fruit trees, cottage herbs, vegetables and other intriguing edibles and organically grown delicacies. Over in botanist Alex’s Kardinya garden, a native Australian forest with species that he speaks of like old friends and cultivated over decades awaits, with two other gardens to follow in the series.
