Launceston Gem & Mineral Show

The Launceston Gem & Mineral Show is held in November annually. This year's show will be on the weekend dated 18th-19th November 2023. The Lapidary Club of Northern Tasmania Inc is the host and proudly bring together around 40 Gem and Mineral traders - over 100 tables across two stadiums, under one roof at the Elphin Sports Centre, Racecourse Crescent Launceston.

Traders come from Tasmania, mainland Australia as well as some International dealers bringing with them a wide variety of items from museum pieces right through to small specimens for the young or novice collector. Some of Tasmania's best known minerals including Crocoite and Stichtite in Serpentine from Dundas on the West Coast will be available - Mine owners will be trading at the show.

Trading also at the show will be artisan jewellers - we have many gemcutters & metalsmiths that cut their own stones, make their own cabochons, turning them into one of a kind jewellery items. Crystals, carvings, towers, sphere's and tumbled stones are also proving popular at the show.

Hailed as one of the best shows in Tasmania in 2022, this year we aim to provide the state with what we presented last year and more ! Aside from our traders we offer children's activities (& for the young at heart) A working sluice, interactive display from the University of Tasmania as well as other educational activities.

The venue has public toilets, wheelchair access as well as a kiosk operating within the complex.
