The Asia TOPA Festival Barre invites foodies and theatregoers to discover the flavours and dishes inspired by the Asia-Pacific region.
Transport your tastebuds with a specially curated dining menu that balances authenticity with invention by reinterpreting traditional techniques and flavours of the Asia-Pacific during Victoria’s leading festival of Asian arts, Asia TOPA.
The menu created for The Barre celebrates and reinterprets traditional flavours including beef satay skewers with sweet and spicy cashew sauce, and a cold zaru buckwheat soba noodle with a mentsuyo dipping sauce. Another highlight of the menu comes from Senior Chef de Partie at The Barre, Cecilia Salvante who has brought a much-loved Filipino family dish into the 21st century with her modern take on Pork Adobo. The kitchen has reinterpreted the classic Singapore Sling cocktail as a deconstructed dessert with pineapple compote, cherry sorbet, freeze dried orange and lemon balm.
Alongside an extensive drinks list, the Asia TOPA Festival Barre is also shaking up crafted cocktails that are playful in flavour including Yuzu Sour, Gin Pow and Thai Basil Mojito.
This alfresco setting is the perfect spot to meet with a drink in hand and some small or large bites to share. So come before or after the performance, or just to simply kick back and enjoy the weather.
