King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard - Nonagon Infinity Tour
Fresh from releasing their incredible new video for People-Vultures, King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard remain unstoppable as they are now set to please their legions of Australian fans with a behemoth Australian tour.
The Nonagon Infinity Tour will offer crazy shows when it hits all major venues in Hobart, Brisbane, Adelaide, Perth, North Fremantle, Melbourne, Ballarat Central, Geelong and Sydney.
After leaving the story open-ended with the sacrificial cliffhanger video for ‘Gamma Knife’, Danny Cohen & Jason Galea continued working on the new video for ‘People-Vultures’, drawing influences from 60/70’s Japanese Tokusatsu TV shows like Ultraman and Kamen Rider.
“We conceptualised a giant 6 meter (20+ feet) tall musical vulture. The vulture housed all seven band members along with their instruments and trundled across different landscapes fighting various characters plucked from the tracks on Nonagon Infinity. With the vulture fully assembled and all the band members inside, it weighed over a tonne and was difficult to move safely across the rough terrain without breaking or toppling over. Stu had the daunting job of being inside the vulture’s neck and head with only a small railing to battle the vertigo and bumps as the vulture slowly moved.” - Danny Cohen & Jason Galea
The thirty people production team took three weeks to film the Vulture in a quarry outside of Geelong. The People-Vultures video will appear as episode IV in the Nonagon Infinity video album set to be released by the end of the year.
Don't be surprised if this is the one they're remembered for." - The Music, 4 stars
"You better fasten your seatbelt and solder the metal, King Gizzard's eighth album in five years is a hurtling semi-trailer, a hot, hard-rock record that is an infinitely looping piece of art" - The Herald Sun, 4 stars
"Nonagon Infinity is not only a major step up for the band, it’s bound to be one of the year’s most memorable releases. Some will start listening, and they’ll continue listening forever. Just because.” - Music Feeds
"And then it’s all over, a cliff face finish that leaves you wondering what to do next. The answer is obvious: turn it over, and start again. It’s an infinite trip.” - Beat
