Pokey LaFarge Australian Tour
Round Up by arrangement with Live Nation and Artist Voice are proud to present the return of America’s greatest tribute to its original roots music, Pokey LaFarge.
Building on the critical and popular acclaim of his debut Australian headline tour earlier this year, his six-piece band, complete with newly expanded rhythm section, will return to Melbourne (Oakleigh), Melbourne (Richmond), Castlemaine, Sydney and Newcastle for a run in April 2015.
Tickets will go on sale at 10am this Thursday, December 11.

Recently signed to renowned roots label Rounder Records, Pokey LaFarge is set to release his new studio album in the autumn of 2015, coinciding with his Australian tour. LaFarge has received much critical praise on both the national and international stage, following his well-received 2013 self-titled release on Jack White’s Third Man Records. Sydney Morning Herald raved, “Pokey and his boys make timeless music that’s right at home in juke joints, gin mills and lounge rooms anywhere from Melbourne to Memphis.”
Pokey’s music transcends the confines of genre, cleverly blending early jazz, country blues and western swing, all brought to life through his dynamic vocals and the virtuosic instrumental skill of his band. Both on stage and off, his effortless wit never fails to charm audiences giving way to a live music experience that manages to be grandiose and unassuming all at once. Born in the heartland of America and based in St. Louis, Missouri, Pokey’s Midwestern charisma welcomes his audiences with open arms.
Pokey LaFarge is on a mission, encouraging audiences worldwide to think differently about what it means to celebrate musical traditions. Simply put, Pokey explains, “It’s not retro music. It’s American music that never died.”
Once again Pokey will light up Australian stages when he and his band bring their Midwestern appeal and infallible charisma to Australia this April.
