You’re invited to experience a stunning concert of uplifting choral works at the Willoughby Symphony Orchestra (WSO) and Choir’s Dreamscape concert this April.
Lead by conductor Anthony Pasquill the WSO and Choir with special guests Bel a cappella will perform the heavenly music of George Dyson’s masterful Hierusalem to Estonian composer Arvo Pärt’s eye-wateringly beautiful Te Deum.
Holy Dreaming, by Willoughby Symphony Orchestra’s composer-in-residence for 2020, Alice Chance, is a musical meditation on the words of A Thanksgiving for Australia by Reverend Lenore Parker, the first Aboriginal person to be ordained as a Deacon in the Anglican Church.
WSO violinist and concert master Maria Lindsay will reprise the Violin Concerto written for her by the late Australian music icon Tommy Tycho. “The Concerto is a winner for all audiences. It never fails to stir the hearts of Tommy’s lifelong fans and new audiences alike” Maria said. “It is a great and rare honour for me to have this Concerto written for me and it was an added privilege that the Concerto brought Tommy so much joy in his final years”.
Maria has a vibrant and varied career as a soloist, chamber musician, artistic director, concertmaster and teacher. She graduated from Sydney Conservatorium of Music with High Distinction and as Student of the Year and has held positions with prestigious orchestras world-wide, including the Vienna Chamber Orchestra and Australian World Orchestra.
A concert not to be missed as music transcends the physical world. Book your tickets now to secure your spot.
