Canberra Blues Society Annual Youth in Blues Jam will be hosted by Bundah Blues Band & Small Town Afro. Bundah Blues Band will perform the opening set at 1pm. The band will be followed by some amazing musicians from the region jamming together. Small Town Afro from Mulwaree High, Goulburn will finish off the day with a half hour set from approximately 4pm.
Bundah Blues Band - is comprised of music students from Narrabundah College in Narrabundah.
David (keys), Caspian (bass), Ben (tenor sax), Lucy (alto sax), Jessica (trumpet), Mike (vocals), Amy (alto sax), Tahli (drums), Taylor (vocals), Declan (trombone), Dimitri (guitar).
Small Town Afro - a group of young musicians originating from Mulwaree High School in Goulburn. They draw influences across many styles, and have performed as an ensemble at the Australian blues festival held in Goulburn in 2019 and “Specfest” at the school spectacular in Sydney in 2018.
The group has a number of young performers, with the bass player, drummer and vocalist being 14, 15 and 15 years of age respectively.
They are currently looking to expand their repertoire to enable them to perform more gigs in 2019. Small Town Afro would like to thank the Canberra blues society for the opportunity to perform today. Micah Absalom (lead vocals), Nathan Tunstall (guitar/vocals), Mikki Dunne (keys), Harry Russell (bass) & Bryn Wood (drums).
