American country pop diva Carrie Underwood has announced her first ever venture performing outside North America - which includes a string of Australian dates starting in June.
Underwood's Australian Tour features performances in Melbourne, Brisbane, and Sydney. She'll also play a special show in the nation's country music capital, Tamworth.
Underwood shot to fame in 2005 when she became the fourth winner of American Idol. Since then, she has become a multi-platinum selling, multi-award winning musician.
Her fourth album, Blown Away, was released on May 1 through Sony, and her first international tour is in support of it.
"Touring is more fun now," Underwood says, "because I know what it's like to headline a tour. I feel like I'm able to be more and more creative all the time. I always feel like I'm taking steps forward."
"I can’t wait to get back out on the road and perform new music from my new album for my fans. We have a lot of exciting things planned!"
Tickets go on sale 9am Monday, May 14.
